Repeated consumption of carbohydrate fuels — even those with a neutral flavour profile — can lead to a state of flavour fatigue. Symptoms can include a lack of motivation to maintain a planned fuelling protocol, sickly or nauseous sensation, and a desensitised sense of taste.
